EARLY WARNING SMOKE AND FIRE DETECTION

faastFike’s FAAST is very early warning fire detection featuring the latest in Fire Alarm Aspiration Sensing Technology (FAAST). Compatible and complementary to each of Fike’s fire alarm and fire suppression systems, this technology uses an advanced, smoke chamber that actively draws air into its sensor through a pipe network, enabling FAAST to deliver highly accurate and discreet early warning detection for a wide variety of environments/applications.

Dual Vision. Single Purpose.
FAAST’s dual vision sensing technology uses a blue LED to detect a wide variety of fires with extremely low concentrations of smoke and an infrared laser to identify nuisances like dust that can cause false alarms and expensive downtime. Advanced algorithms interpret signals from both sources… and the result is the earliest and most accurate smoke detection available, providing facility, valuable asset and life safety protection.

Communication Link
Like other Fike intelligent devices, FAAST combines advanced communications and programming capabilities with an extensive range of customizable settings. The detector provides five alarm levels that can be programmed for latching or non-latching relays; and alarm delays can be set to accommodate specific codes or application requirements. When internet-connected, FAAST can also e-mail
status updates to appropriate personnel, and the detector can communicate information such as alarm levels, urgent and minor faults, and isolate inputs.

Managing the View
The intelligent FAAST provides you with all the information you need to manage your environment. Multiple Display Options:

  • Displayed at Fike’s alarm control systems
  • Integral display at the detector
  • Internet via ethernet port using various devices (computer, iPad, etc)
  • Integration with Precise® event management software

Receive Current Detector Status:

  • 5 alarm levels
  • 10 pre-alarm particulate levels
  • 10 level airflow verification
  • Full range of fault indications

Software Support
Fike’s FAAST is backed by sophisticated, yet easy-to-use system configuration and monitoring software. The software packages will guide you through initial pipe layout and system configuration, as well as ongoing configuration and system monitoring from anywhere in the world.

Where do you need FAAST?
FAAST aspirating smoke detection delivers highly accurate very early warning fire detection and extensive communications capabilities … providing maximum control over challenging environments.

Mission Critical
In Mission Critical applications, there can be no downtime. FAAST alerts facility managers to the faintest traces of smoke – the first indication of system trouble – helping keep facilities up and running 24/7 and preventing unnecessary activation of suppression systems.

FAAST Intelligence
FAAST is an intelligent device and acts, reports and programs similar to any SLC device, detector or pull station. A fully integrated part of Fike’s family of fire alarm and releasing panels, FAAST is easily programmable, reducing overall cost and commissioning of the entire system.

Adverse Environments
FAAST can be located outside of areas with adverse environmental conditions, while sampling points within the area are used to enable reliable fire detection. That makes Fike’s FAAST ideal for areas outside the tolerance of typical fire detection, such as cold storage facilities or spaces with high airflow.

First Impressions
In applications where aesthetics are important, such as in museums, churches, or mansions, FAAST provides discreet smoke
detection that is nearly invisible to the public.

Access Denied
In certain areas such as prisons and high security access applications, FAAST can be mounted in a secure area, while air sampling points are located in the actual protected environment — greatly minimizing the concerns of potential tampering.

Large Areas
Fike’s FAAST is designed to provide highly accurate fire detection for large public areas such as malls, airports and stadiums, helping to eliminate nuisance alarms and provide safe evacuations.
